Istanbul Police Arrest Armenian Church Shooting Suspects

ISTANBUL (Combined Sources) — Two young men were arrested in Istanbul this week over the shoot-out in Saint Hovhannes Armenian Church on May 5.

According to Radikal paper, those arrested were identified as M.E. born in 1997 and G.M. of Armenian descent, born in 1996. They confessed to having bought a gas gun and M.E. shot it in the air to test it. The young men said their shots were not targeting the church or those in it.

No injuries were reported.
