Ambassador of Holy See to Armenia Receives MFA Medal of Honor

YEREVAN — On May 11, Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received Archbishop Marek Solczynski, Apostolic Nuncio of the Holy See to Armenia (residence in Tbilisi) on the occasion of completion of his diplomatic mission.

Wishing success to the Papal Nuncio in his future endeavors, Nalbandian noted that relations between Armenia and Vatican, the Armenian Apostolic Church and the Roman Catholic Church are at the highest level, and the last year historic visit of Pope Francis to Armenia under the “Pilgrimage to the first Christian country” motto was a vivid evidence of that.

Expressing gratitude for the comprehensive support provided throughout his tenure, Solczynski expressed confidence that the cooperation between the Holy See and Armenia will further strengthen and expand.

In acknowledgement of his valuable contribution to the development of relations between Armenia and Vatican, Nalbandian awarded Solczynski with the Medal of Honor of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
