Armenia’s Minister of Emergency Situations Dies

YEREVAN (PanARMENIAN.Net) — Minister of Emergency Situations Armen Yeritsyan  died on December 13 at Nairi Medical Center, Anatoly Gnuni, Executive Director of the medical center announced.

It was reported earlier that Yeritsyan had been taken to the medical center in serious condition. No details about the cause of the death were revealed.

President Serzh Sargsyan sent a letter of condolence to his family.

“Armen Yeritsyan devoted his entire life to the reinforcement of statehood of the Fatherland. The long years of his impeccable activities contributed to the development of the law enforcement system of Armenia. His efforts aimed at the fundamental reconstruction and modernization of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia deserve high appreciation. I extent my deep condolences to the family members, relatives, friends and colleagues of the state figure,” he wrote, in part.

Yeritsyan would have turned 56 on December 25.
