VALLETTA, Malta (Panorama.am) — The artistic director and principal conductor of the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, Sergey Smbatyan is set to perform his first concert of 2019 in Valletta, Malta.
Smbatyan is set to conduct the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra in performance of its New Year concert on January 6, the Armenian symphony orchestra announced.
be held at Mediterranean Conference Centre built in the 16th century.
Under the direction of Smbatyan, the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra will be performing pieces by Strauss, Rossini, Prokofiev, Tchaikovsky, Bernstein and other composers.
The concert program also featuresSabre Dance from the ballet “Gayane” by Aram Khachaturian. Popular mezzo-soprano Clare Ghigo will share the stage with the orchestra during the concert.
