VIENNA (Panorama.am) — Internationally acclaimed Armenian-Lithuanian soprano Asmik Grigorian won the Best Female Leading Role award at the 2026 Austrian Music Theater Awards last week for her acclaimed performance as “Norma.”

The awards ceremony was held at the MusikTheater an der Wien in Vienna, where Grigorian was recognized for her portrayal of the title role in Vincenzo Bellini’s opera Norma.

She dedicated the award to her mother, Lithuanian opera singer Irena Milkevičiūtė, according to the Opera Vibes Facebook page.

Her father is the renowned Armenian opera singer Gegham Grigorian.

The soprano is due to perform in Yerevan on October 16, when she will share the stage with legendary Spanish tenor and conductor Plácido Domingo at the Alexander Spendiaryan National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater.

The concert will mark the 75th birthday of Gegham Grigorian and will feature the theatre’s symphony orchestra and choir, conducted by Vardan Grigorian.
