YEREVAN (Armenpress) — The National Assembly voted unanimously to elect Ararat Mirzoyan as President of the National Assembly on Monday, January 14. One of 132 ballots was invalid.
Speaking after the election, Mirzoyan said “the vote is obliging.”
Mirzoyan was nominated by My Step bloc, no candidates were nominated by Bright Armenia and prosperous Armenia parties.
Lena Nazaryan and Alen Simonyan have been nominated for Vice-Chairs.
The National Assembly of 7th convocation held its inaugural sitting on Monday.
