Levon Aronian Ranked Third in FIDE Ratings

PARIS — Armenia’s Levon Aronian (2,808 points) is ranked third in the International Chess Federation (FIDE) ratings, which just released its top-100 list. India’s Viswanathan Anand tops the list with 2,817 points, followed by Norway’s Magnus Carlsen (2,815 points).

Armenia’s Sergei Movsesian, Gabriel Sargissian and Vladimir Akopian are 29th, 65th and 67th, respectively, on the list.

As a country, Armenia ranks fourth in the FIDE ratings. Armenia has 33 grand masters and 19 international masters.

Russia tops the list, followed by Ukraine and China.
