Levon Nazarian Center for Neurovascular Surgery Opens in Yerevan

YEREVAN — This past week, President Serge Sargisian and a delegation of dignitaries were present for the official ribbon-cutting of the Levon Nazarian Center for Neurovascular Surgery  at the Yerevan State Medical University (YSMU).

Present at the ceremony were also the President of the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU) Berge Setrakian, member of the AGBU Board of Trustees Nazar Nazarian, and members of the AGBU Central Board of Directors.

The construction of the center, which is a unique project of regional significance, was initiated by the Yerevan State Medical University three years ago. The center is equipped with the high-tech devices and its staff was undergoing professional training in the best clinics abroad for three years.

The YSMU’s project received support from the AGBU, as well as Nazar and Artemis Nazarian, who donated $1.7 million for the construction of the center.

Sargisian later hosted the members of the AGBU delegation. He welcomed the guests, thanked the organization for its activities and expressed readiness to contribute to AGBU programs.

Sargisian handed to Nazar and Artemis Nazarian Armenian passports.
