LOS ANGELES — It was announced this week that a recording featuring Stephen Costello and the Kaunas City Symphony, led by Constantine Orbelian, has been nominated for the 2020 Grammy Award in the category of Best Classical Solo Vocal Album.
The album is titled “A Te, O Cara: Stephen Costello Sings Bel Canto.”
A review in Opera News by Maria Mazzaro said “the tenor sounds better than ever on his latest album, featuring bel canto’s greatest hits.… The Kaunas City Symphony, under the fine baton of Constantine Orbelian, plays with aplomb…”
The 62nd Annual Grammy Awards ceremony is scheduled for January 26, 2020, at Staples Center in Los Angeles. It will recognize the best recordings, compositions, and artists of the eligibility year, running from October 1, 2018, to August 31, 2019.
