Brandon Balayan is a journalist currently based in Yerevan. He has spent the last 4 months volunteering in Armenia, working closely with displaced families. His interests are border regions, subcultures, and human interest stories. Balayan is currently an undergrad at San Diego State University, where he is pursuing a degree in journalism and has written for The Daily Aztec, the university’s student-run newspaper. Photojournalism is his speciality but he also writes and creates video projects. He recently assistant directed, produced, and shot a documentary about displaced mothers from Goris. Balayan’s is looking to work in Yerevan until next summer before he starts school again in the fall.
