Spring Concerts at Armenian Museum

WATERTOWN — The Armenian Museum of America will present its annual, free Spring Concert Series in the Adele and Haig Der Manuelian Galleries.

On Sunday, April 2, the concert series will kick-off with “April in Paris: Music for Cello and Piano by French and Armenian Composers” and feature Boston-based cellist Kate Kayaian accompanied by Stephen Porter on piano. The program and will highlight works from composers like Debussy, Petrossian and Hovounts.

“Spring of Music” on Sunday, April 30, will feature a program of Armenian and classical music performed by Narine Ojakhyan, soprano; Thomas Shahbaghyan, violin; Levon Markosyan, cello; and Prof. Gregory Chaverdian, piano.

Each of these weekend concerts will begin at 2 p.m., is co-sponsored by the Composer’s Union of Armenia, and is open to the public. Both concerts will also be accompanied by a reception where attendees will have the opportunity to meet the artists.

Finally, on May 25, Epiphany 3, an ensemble from Armenia, will be stopping in Boston on their US tour to perform in the Adele and Haig Der Manuelian Galleries at 8 p.m. The family trio’s music has its roots in the sound of Armenia’s past. This concert will also be open to the public and be accompanied by a reception following the performance.

The Armenian Museum is located on Main Street in Watertown.
