YEREVAN (Armenpress) — Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill announced in a meeting with Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II, according to TASS, that the Russian Orthodox Church has always advocated fraternity between the peoples of Armenia and Russia. The patriarch stated that both religious and state authorities have always supported the friendship between the two peoples.
“The Armenian diaspora is an organic part of the Russian society. Its members are very active people and often assume important posts. This is the nature of our Russian state – here everybody can work in safety, create a career and earn money,” Patriarch Kirill said.
Karekin II congratulated Kirill on his 70th birthday, and noted that the participation of the representatives of all the Orthodox churches in the festive events document the great love towards Patriarch Kirill and appreciation of his works. “I am happy that the relations between our states develop and include new aspects,” Karekin II stated.
