Rep. Hecht Will Give up Town Council Seat

WATERTOWN — State Rep. Jonathan Hecht told the Watertown Tab last Friday that he will not run for re-election to the Watertown Town Council this fall.

A Mirror-Spectator profile on Hecht published Tuesday examined Hecht’s roles as both a state and local representative. While campaigning to replace Rachel Kaprielian for the Watertown/Cambridge 29th District, he promised to fulfill his current term on the Council, which runs through December 31.

Hecht has represented District B on the Town Council since 2005. No candidates have announced whether they will run for the seat.
