Lessons of the Armenian Genocide: A Lecture with Pulitzer-Winning Author Peter Balakian

Pulitzer Prize winning Armenian author and poet Peter Balakian will be giving a lecture and Q&A on Thursday September 22nd 2022 at 7:00PM in the Donahue Auditorium on the campus of John Carroll University. The theme of the lecture is “Lessons of the Armenian Genocide”. The Armenian Cultural Garden of Cleveland and the Peace, Justice and Human Rights Program at John Carroll University are sponsoring this program. The event is free and open to the public. Balakian is the author of “The Burning Tigris: The Armenian Genocide and America’s Response”, “Black Dog of Fate” and “Ozone Journal”. He has appeared on 60 Minutes, ABC World News Tonight, PBS and Fresh Air. He is currently the Donald M. and Constance H. Rebar Professor of Humanities, Professor of English and Director of Creative Writing at Colgate University.
