Watertown, MA.- Co-sponsored by the Armenian National Committee of Eastern Massachusetts, the Armenian Cultural and Educational Center (ACEC) is organizing a special screening of the documentary “My Sweet Land” on Friday, April 25, at 7PM. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the film Director Sareen Hairabedian.
This 2024 documentary film follows an 11-year-old boy, growing up in Artsakh (aka Nagorno-Karabakh), enduring war and displacement, and returning to a new reality, where he must learn the ways of war to defend his homeland. This production is a testament to the resilience of the people of Artsakh, where hope and trauma had shaped their lives across generations.
The film had its world premiere at the Sheffield DocFest in June 2024 and was screened at DOC NYC in November 2024.
Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to see the documentary, engage with the filmmaker, and be part of celebrating the resilience of our people and reflecting on the importance of peace and justice while supporting the creative arts. This screening also serves as a meaningful occasion to commemorate Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day on April 24.
* The event is free and open to the public. Donations are welcome.
