Please join Massachusetts Chamber Music Artists for Tradition Unbound, a program that explores the space between classical refinement and the spontaneity of jazz.
Featuring music by composers who challenged conventional boundaries, this concert highlights the creative dialogue between written tradition and improvisational spirit. The program includes Nikolai Kapustin’s virtuosic works for saxophone, cello, and piano, alongside Paul Schoenfield’s vibrant Café Music Trio, a work that draws inspiration from jazz, folk, and popular styles while remaining rooted in the chamber music tradition.
Through bold rhythms, expressive melodies, and unexpected connections between genres, Tradition Unbound celebrates composers who expand the possibilities of classical music while embracing the freedom and energy of jazz.
