First Thursdays: Jazz Night with the Black Sea Salsa Band featuring John Baboian
Jazz concert in the Armenian Museum of America Adele & Haig Der Manuelian galleries, 3rd floor. This month we welcome back John Baboian who brings the Black Sea Salsa Band. Black Sea Salsa is a 15-piece World-Music group made up of 6 horns, 4 vocalists, and 5 rhythm, playing an original blend of Armenian music and Afro-Cuban Jazz. Led by trumpeter Dan Teager, who writes and arranges the band’s repertoire, Black Sea Salsa has established itself as one of Boston’s premier festival bands.
6–7 pm: Gallery hours will be extended until 7 pm for guest to explore the Museum.
7 pm: Reception in the Adele & Haig Der Manuelian galleries, 3rd floor
7:30–9:30 pm: The Black Sea Salsa Band
We encourage you to join us at 6 pm for a viewing of our newest Family Case featuring a uniform belonging to SSG Berge Avadanian. Then join us in the Adele & Haig Der Manuelian Galleries on the 3rd Floor as we continue the celebration of Berge’s honorable life with the sounds of Black Sea Salsa Band directed by Dan Teager and featuring John Baboian and other artists
