LEXINGTON, Mass. — The group Massachusetts Chamber Music Artists opens its second season with “Crossroads”, a program that explores the places where cultures, traditions, and musical voices intersect.
The event will take place on Saturday, September 12, at 7 p.m., at the Follen Church, 755 Massachusetts Ave., Lexington.
From Armenia to Argentina to Germany, “Crossroads” traces unexpected connections across continents and generations, revealing how music transcends borders while giving voice to the unique stories and traditions that shape our world.
The evening opens with Armenian composer Gayane Chebotaryan’s expressive Piano Trio, a work that blends rich lyricism with the distinctive colors and rhythms of Armenia’s musical landscape. It is followed by Astor Piazzolla’s electrifying The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires, a work that re-imagines the spirit of tango through the lens of the concert hall. The program concludes with Johannes Brahms’s monumental Piano Trio No. 1, a masterpiece whose sweeping melodies and emotional depth have made it one of the cornerstones of the chamber music repertoire.
