WASHINGTON – On June 27, during his visit to the United States, President Armen Sarkissian of Armenia visited Theodore Roosevelt Island to pay tribute to the American president who condemned the Ottoman Empire’s genocidal policies during World War I. On May 11, 1918, he declared, “the Armenian massacre was the greatest crime of the war…”
