ALEPPO (Armenpress) — Aleppo’s Armenian schools began resuming activities, deputy minister of Diaspora Serzh Srapionyan said in an interview.
“As you know, numerous buildings were greatly damaged in the military operations in Syria. Armenian structures were among them. After the liberation of Aleppo, despite unfavorable conditions Armenian schools are operating, restoring their activities. We can say the schools are operating, to say the least, in unfavorable conditions. Several schools have merged, I think by April many things will return to normal,” Srapionyan said. The deputy minister mentioned that currently Aleppo is peaceful, but many areas are covered in mines. Syrian authorities are engaged in mine clearance operations. According to Srapionyan, many Syrian-Armenians who had relocated to safer territories in Syria are returning to Aleppo.
