The Erevan Chorale and Orchestra to Hold Christmas Concerts

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — The Holy Trinity Armenian Church of Cambridge, Massachusetts, will present the EREVAN Chorale and Orchestra’s annual Christmas concert on December 14 at 7 p.m. This time the Chorale and Orchestra will present a festive program of Armenian sharagans, Armenian and Western Christmas carols, as well as special performances dedicated to the 145th anniversary of Komitas and the 100th anniversary of the composer Aram Satunts.

The Chorale and Orchestra will host a number of soloists, including soprano Narine Ojakhyan who, after graduating from London’s Royal Academy Music, has performed in various concerts and festivals throughout the world and has won a number of international prizes. David Gevorkyan on duduk will be featured in a work by Komitas and soprano Kate Norigian will perform Armenian and American Christmas songs.

The evening will feature the US premiere of Ave Maria by Aram Satyan, the president of the Composers Union of Armenia who will be a special guest of the concert. The Erevan Chorale and Orchestra will perform under the direction of composer and conductor Konstantin Petrossian.
