WATERTOWN, Mass. — The St. Stephen’s Armenian Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization held an on-line Christmas Auction Event, from November 21 through December 5, where bidders had the opportunity to win products, services and memorabilia.

“We are excited about year two of this innovative event that will help us continue to provide an outstanding education to the children in our community,” said event Co-chair Regina Najarian. “Our inaugural event was a great success and we expect to build on those results [this] year.”

The 2009 auction event drew bidders from both the St. Stephen’s school community as well as an online community of over 110,000 active bidders using www.biddingforgood.com. Close to 1,000 unique visitors traveled to the auction website, creating more than 15,000 page views.

“We are using the power of the Internet and today’s auction technology to expand our efforts,” said Najarian. “Unlike traditional auction fundraiser events, we will be able to reach well beyond in-person attendance to branch outside of our school community, drawing bidders from across the country and around the world. This benefits the school and it creates a unique value proposition by generating broader exposure for our generous donors.”

This event allowed bidders to shop at their own convenience, refer others to the auction, easily monitor the bidding and come away with holiday gifts, all to benefit a great cause. Auction items included toys and games, salons and spas, electronics, camps, restaurants, art, jewelry, parties and unique experiences.
