WATERTOWN — Angele Tomassian died at Mt. Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, Mass on August 15 after a short illness. She was 97.
She was born in Jerusalem in 1913 and later moved to Beirut, Lebanon. As a result of the civil war in Lebanon, she and her husband, the former chairman of the ADL Central Committee and one of the founders of the Tekeyan Cultural Association, Prof. Parounag Tomassian, moved to the US and settled in Watertown. In Lebanon, she was a staunch member and the chairwoman of the ADL Shoushanig chapter.
Funeral services were held on Friday, August 20, at St. James Armenian Church. Interment was in Ridgelawn Cemetery.
